The following people, books, links, and resources went in to establishing the POOR Genealogy found on this site. Thanks and appreciation goes to:
- First of all, my family, always the FIRST place to start when working on genealogy. I appreciate everyone's help, enthusiasm, and patience!
- The indispensable Andover, Maine Web Site run by Robert A. Spidell.
Mom and I met Bob Spidell and his wife Janet at Andover's Olde Home Days in August 2001. It was a great day, and it was wonderful to thank Bob personally for all of his help. He also initiated a meeting with the Chandlers, who now own the Merrill-Poor house, and the Hudspeths, who now own the Poor Homestead. Both families graciously allowed us to view their homes. Thanks to them, and thanks again, Bob! UPDATE: Turns out, Bob is a cousin on my Buck side!
